The short version

  • Send written notices to our designated agent with the details listed below.
  • We review every complete notice and act on valid ones promptly.
  • Users can send a counter-notice if they believe material was removed by mistake.

Our approach

We take intellectual property seriously. When we receive a complete and valid notice of claimed infringement, we review it promptly and, where appropriate, remove or disable access to the material concerned and notify the affected user.

Sending a notice

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must be in writing and include:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed.
  3. Identification of the material claimed to be infringing, with enough information for us to locate it (for example, a URL or channel name and time).
  4. Your contact information: name, address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Where to send it

Send notices by email to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA notice”.

Counter-notices

If material you provided was removed and you believe that happened by mistake or misidentification, you may send a counter-notice under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3) including:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material removed and where it appeared before removal.
  3. A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed by mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for your address (or, if outside the US, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

If we receive a valid counter-notice, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant tells us they have filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

In appropriate circumstances, we terminate the accounts of users who are found to be repeat infringers.

Misrepresentation

Under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), anyone who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation in a notice or counter-notice may be liable for damages. If you’re unsure whether material infringes your rights, consider getting legal advice first.
